Egyptian, French Presidents Discuss Gaza, Sudan Developments in Phone Call
Cairo, December 12 (QNA) - Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and his French counterpart, Emmanuel Macron, discussed Israeli violations in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank in a phone call Friday, emphasizing the need to move to the second phase of the ceasefire plan.
During the call, the two presidents discussed the latest regional developments, particularly in the Gaza Strip. President El Sisi stressed the importance of consolidating the ceasefire and moving to the implementation of the second phase of US President Donald Trump's peace plan.
He also emphasized the importance of increasing the delivery of humanitarian aid to the Strip and immediately beginning the early recovery and reconstruction phase.
Both sides agreed that current efforts should lead to the launch of a comprehensive political process that results in the establishment of an independent Palestinian state within the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Regarding the situation in Sudan, El Sisi affirmed Egypt's full support for the unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of Sudan, and its rejection of any attempts to threaten its security. He expressed his country's support for efforts to end the war and restore peace and stability in Sudan. (QNA)
