Doha, November 05 (QNA) - The Ministry of Municipality has announced the launch of the second Aswaq Winter Festival in collaboration with and Hassad Food Company.
The event runs from November 6 to December 17 at Umm Salal Central Market.
The Ministry said in a statement that the festival builds on the success of its first edition to boost the visibility of local agricultural products, support national food security, and strengthen the role of private sector producers in achieving Qatar National Vision 2030.
Yousef Khaled Al Khulaifi, Director of Agricultural Affairs at the Ministry of Municipality, said the ministry's sponsorship reflects its commitment to empowering local producers and advancing the country's food and agricultural sectors.
Mohammed Abdulwahab Al Mahmoud, Chief Operations Officer at Hassad Food, said the festival provides an integrated marketing platform for farmers, producers, and small business owners to showcase their goods directly to consumers, supporting sustainable economic growth.
The event will feature a wide range of local products including dates, honey, seasonal organic fruits and vegetables, and traditional Qatari foods. It will also include stalls for family-run businesses and a special section supporting families of Gaza residents receiving treatment in Qatar, underlining the festival's social dimension.
Open daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., the six-week festival is expected to serve as a popular family destination this winter, combining traditional market charm with a diverse shopping experience.
Located on a 60,000-square-meter site, Umm Salal Central Market serves as one of Qatar's key trading hubs, linking to major ports in Al Wakra, Al Ruwais, Al Khor, and Doha. (QNA)
