Doha, November 04 (QNA) - The seventh day of the HH the Amir's Bowling Cup, organized by the Qatar Bowling Federation at the federation's hall, continued today with intense competition. The tournament, featuring a strong international lineup representing 20 countries, will conclude next Saturday.
Tuesday's action included four rounds with the participation of 60 players, among them six Qatari bowlers, in addition to participants from Canada, Finland, the Czech Republic, Vietnam, and England.
In the day's opening round, Canada's Valentin Solnier topped the standings with a total of 788 points, followed by Kuwait's Aseel Al Roumi in second place with 761 points, while Finland's Noa Vilokkinen finished third with 728 points.
In the second round, England's Ben Robinson claimed first place with 758 points, while Canada's Mathis Blanchette came second with 726 points, and Finland's Noa Vilokkinen secured third with 704 points.
As for the overall standings after today's second round (Round 27 since the tournament began), Sweden's Pontus Andersson led the table with a total of 2,221 points, followed by Qatar's Ghanem Abu Jassoum in second with 2,193 points, and Kuwait's Mustafa Al Moussawi in third with 2,192 points.
Today's competitions also saw Sweden's Noll Torgerson Haglund crowned with the award for the highest game score on the sixth day of the tournament. The award was presented by Secretary-General of the Qatar Bowling Federation, Bandar Al Shafi. Haglund had recorded an impressive 789 points in Round 24.
The championship continues on Wednesday, with the eighth day of competition, featuring five qualifying rounds that will run until November 6.
The Qatar Bowling Federation has allocated a total prize fund of USD 117,100 for the tournament, including USD 4,500 in prizes for the ongoing International Youth Championship (U-21 category) held on the sidelines of HH the Amir's Bowling Cup. (QNA)
