FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2025/ Tunisian Coach Eyes Title, Syrian Coach Satisfied with Preparations
Doha, November 30 (QNA) - Head coach of the Tunisian national squad, Sami Trabelsi, affirmed that Monday's clash against Syria at Ahmed bin Ali Stadium is very important, since it marks the kickoff of Group A matches at the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2025.
This tournament holds immense significance, particularly following the remarkable success in the previous edition and the Tunisian team’s striking performance, Trabelsi noted.
He stressed that the Tunisian squad is here to maintain the level it demonstrated previously and is eyeing with full strength to clinch the title.
Trabelsi further indicated that Tunisian fans were a tremendous source of backing for the team in the past, and undoubtedly their support will be as robust in this tournament, clarifying that the team’s focus is presently on the Arab Cup before later shifting to preparations for the African Cup of Nations.
Regarding the faces on the line-up list, Trabelsi pointed out that the call-up for Seifeddine Jaziri came after the injury to Naïm Sliti, with Jaziri participating in the recent friendly against Brazil and being the most suitable option for the team.
He hailed the Syrian squad, as it features a line-up of a phenomenal group wielding high spirit of confrontation, with players who possess substantial finesse.
However, he concluded by reminding that the tournament would be pretty tough due to a multitude of challenges, yet the team would adapt to these circumstances by all means possible.
Tunisian midfielder Ferjani Sassi affirmed that this tournament is adorned with an incredible atmosphere, as all are closely monitoring the kickstart of the clashes.
The squad is determined to be at the top in a manner that best suits the reputation of Tunisian football, Sassi said, before adding that he is hopeful for participation based on the coach's suggestion.
Sassi commended the incredible support from the Tunisian fans, pledging to enthrall them on the pitch.
Head coach of the Syrian squad, Spaniard Jose Lana, said he is hopeful that the team will deliver a solid performance in Monday’s clash against Tunisia, noting his gratification with the preparations ahead of the match.
Lana added that his team is well-postured and pleased with the positive atmosphere on the training pitch to be in serious readiness, emphasizing that there is a sheer number of young players who want to represent the team with the good capabilities they possess.
The Spanish coach affirmed that everything is going well in terms of organization, hoping that the Syrian team will show up strongly to mesmerize the fans. (QNA)
