Doha, November 20 (QNA) - CEO of the Qatar Financial Centre (QFC) Yousuf Mohamed Al Jaida emphasized that the official visit of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani to the Republic of Rwanda represents a significant milestone in the promising bilateral relations between the two countries.
In his remarks to Qatar News Agency (QNA), Al Jaida said that the visit will provide a new impetus to consolidate existing cooperation in various fields and open up broader horizons for partnerships between the State of Qatar and Rwanda, especially in the commercial, economic, financial, and investment sectors.
He noted the remarkable development of relations between the State of Qatar and the Republic of Rwanda over the past years, which has been embodied in a variety of agreements and memoranda of understanding covering political, diplomatic, commercial, agricultural, cultural, and sports fields, in addition to investment and cooperation in the field of aviation and avoidance of double taxation.
He added that the Memoranda of Understanding signed by the QFC with Rwanda Finance Limited and the Kigali International Financial Centre since 2021 have played a pivotal role in consolidating strategic partnerships between the two countries, building an effective framework for exchanging expertise, developing policies, developing skills, and promoting investment. These memoranda represent a strategic basis for achieving integration between the two financial centers, facilitating the flow of investments, and launching joint initiatives that support the growth of the financial sector in both Qatar and Rwanda.
The CEO of QFC said that renewing the centre's partnership with the Kigali International Financial Centre in 2023 confirms the commitment of both sides to the shared vision of building an advanced financial system and stimulating growth and innovation in the fields of financial technology and Islamic finance. This partnership aims to build a diverse and interconnected business community between Doha and Kigali, which contributes to creating sustainable economic value and supports the State of Qatar's efforts to diversify its economy and enhance its presence in global markets.
He said that the visit of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani to the Republic of Rwanda constitutes an additional incentive to continue efforts to deepen the existing partnership and transform it into real investment opportunities that fulfill the aspirations of both countries for prosperity and development.
Concluding his remarks to QNA, CEO of QFC Yousuf Mohamed Al Jaida said that QFC looks forward with great confidence to the next phase of cooperation with the partners in Rwanda, and to continuing to move forward together toward building a promising economic future that contributes to enhancing stability and growth in the two regions.
