Doha, October 25 (QNA) - The Qatar Photography Center (QPC), of the Ministry of Culture, announced Saturday the launch of the second Doha Photography Festival, scheduled to take place from Nov. 4 to 9, 2025.

The event is set to feature extensive local and global participation, including eight leading international firms specializing in cameras and photography gear.

This year's festival positions itself as a consequential artistic event with a growing reputation. Throughout the six-day event, it will offer a comprehensive interactive platform for all photographers and photography enthusiasts.

Director of QPC, Jassim Ahmed Al Buainain, said that through this festival the ministry intends to deepen the State of Qatar's standing as an artistic and cultural hub both regionally and globally, offering an effective platform that contributes to advancing the nation's photography community and making this art form a powerful vehicle to express the Qatari identity and showcase its beauty and heritage.

The festival provides an incredible platform to showcase artworks, giving local photographers the opportunity to communicate directly with the public, share expertise with peers worldwide, and foster heritage and photographic culture, Al Buainain added.

Al Buainain further highlighted that the event has diverse objectives, including promoting this art form in the State of Qatar and emphasizing its significance as a robust vehicle for documentation and expression.

The festival aims to inspire the community through photographers' stories and experiences, promote photography tourism in the nation, and hone skills via advanced training programs, he noted.

In addition, Al Buainain pointed out that the event will showcase renowned brands such as Canon, Nikon, Sony, Fujifilm, and Insta360, along with domestic entities like Qatar Forcam and iBrand Connect.

This diverse participation, he said, aims to enrich the experience of attendees by providing access to cutting-edge technologies and products in the photography industry.

He added that the festival's comprehensive lineup underscores QPC's commitment to fostering a vibrant photography community and promoting cultural exchange through visual arts.

The festival features a diverse and significant collection of activities that meet the aspirations of a wide swath of photographers, including 24 personal exhibitions and one collective exhibition, Al Buainain said.

Overall, the festival will host a special Doha Photography Award exhibition, a dedicated astrophotography showcase, exhibitions of vintage photos and antique cameras, and a film photography zone to enhance knowledge exchange and skill development.

The event will include a main stage hosting daily lectures, seminars, and specialized workshops led by elite global professional photographers, providing participants with opportunities to refine their artistic and technical photography skills.

Additionally, the festival dedicates a children's area and interactive audience platforms to ensure a comprehensive and enjoyable experience for all visitors. (QNA)
