Manama, October 24 (QNA) - Qatar won two silver medals Friday in the equestrian and athletics competitions at the 3rd Asian Youth Games, currently being held in Bahrain and continuing until October 31. The Games feature more than 5,000 athletes representing 45 countries.

The first medal was won by our equestrian team, consisting of Suhaim Hamad Al Yafei, Amer Hamad AlMansouri, Mohammed Issa Al-Bukhari, and Abdulaziz Saud Fakhro, who won the silver medal in the show jumping team competition after an outstanding performance. The Jordanian team won the gold medal, while the Saudi team took the bronze.

The second medal was won by runner Dana Salem, who won the silver medal in the 100-meter race in the athletics competition.

Dana Salem clocked 11.60 seconds, while Emirati Arwa Ashar won the gold medal with a time of 11.45 seconds, and China's Xinyi Yan took the bronze medal with a time of 11.79 seconds.

Qatar's medal tally at the Asian Games now stands at three medals: one gold and two silver, after runner Idris Abubaker won the gold medal in the 110m hurdles on Thursday.

In the beach volleyball competition, our national team, consisting of Ahmed Ziad and Musa Al Khair, lost to Indonesia 2-1 (15-21, 21-18, and 10-15).

Despite the loss, the team qualified for the quarterfinals, where they will face Kazakhstan.

In the golf competitions, our national team remained in 12th place in the team rankings after the conclusion of the second day's competition, while Daniel Sokolov, a national team player, dropped to twenty-second place. Meanwhile, Camille Ben Reqaya advanced to thirty-eighth place in the individual rankings.

In volleyball, our national women's youth team lost to Chinese Taipei 0-3 in the quarter-finals.
