Riyadh, October 15 (QNA) - The Organizing Committee for the AFC Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2027 held its fourth meeting in Riyadh on Wednesday to review the latest developments ahead of the tournament, scheduled from Jan. 7 to Feb. 5, 2027.
Operating under the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), the committee stressed the importance of applying global standards in organizing the continental championship and highlighted the ongoing preparations to host Asia's premier men's national teams tournament.
OCAC Chairperson Mariano V. Araneta Jr. expressed full confidence in the Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF) and the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) to set new benchmarks of excellence across all areas of event management.
Committee members received a detailed report from the LOC on key milestones achieved and praised the significant progress in preparing an exceptional event that meets the expectations of all stakeholders.
The committee also lauded the readiness of world-class stadiums that will host the continent's elite national teams.
The OCAC approved the latest edition of the tournament regulations, which includes a key amendment allowing all 26 players registered in each team's final squad to participate in every match.
The committee was also briefed on updates regarding the bidding process for the AFC Asian Cup editions in 2031 and 2035, with final decisions expected by 2027. (QNA)
