Doha, August 09 (QNA) - The Qatar Football Association (QFA) reaffirmed its commitment to continuing the development of the refereeing system and strengthening its presence at the regional and international levels.

During a visit to the elite referees' training camp in Doha, Vice President of the QFA Sheikh Tamim bin Mohammed Al-Thani said Qatari refereeing continues to develop, as widely acknowledged, and that the association is looking to build further on that progress.

The QFA Vice President also wished the referees success in the new season and expressed hope that they would deliver their best performances in domestic and international competitions.

For his part, Chairman of the Referees Committee Hani Taleb Ballan said the refereeing system continues to benefit from comprehensive support covering various aspects of referee development, helping officials keep pace with rapidly evolving developments in refereeing and improving their readiness for upcoming competitions.

The elite referees' training camp began last Friday and will continue in Doha until Aug. 18 as part of preparations for the 2026-27 football season.

The camp focuses on physical conditioning as well as technical and theoretical aspects, including reviewing refereeing incidents, discussing recent developments and amendments, standardizing interpretations and decisions, exchanging expertise, reviewing observations, and drawing lessons from previous experiences.
