Riyadh, April 09 (QNA) - The General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) welcomed today the announcement of a ceasefire between the United States and Iran.

In a statement, the Secretariat commended the significant efforts exerted by the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in this regard, in addition to other regional and international parties calling for a cessation of hostilities in the region.

It also emphasized the importance of concerted regional and international efforts to reach a lasting solution to end this crisis, thereby ensuring security and stability in the region and the world. (QNA)
