Doha, June 06 (QNA) - The Free Zones Authority has approved the Licensing and Registration Regulations for companies in Qatar Free Zones. Corporate licensing is an essential step in enabling both foreign and local investors to register companies and identify the type of commercial activity they wish to practice within Free Zone Areas.

This came during a meeting of the Board of Directors of the Free Zones Authority which was held under the chairmanship of Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Free Zones Authority Board, HE Ahmad bin Mohammed Al Sayed.

The meeting follows four previous sessions that were held by the Board to discuss a wide range of topics.

The Board is currently advancing the implementation of the next phase of approved plans including organization and infrastructure.

The Free Zones Authority which has been established under Law No. (34) of 2005, as amended by Decree Law No. (21) of 2017, is developing all the regulations necessary to attract investments in line with the sustainable development needs of the State of Qatar. The Free Zones Authority is working to provide appropriate infrastructure and investment climate for various businesses who will also enjoy many advantages and business incentives within the Free Zone Areas.

The Free Zones Authority is currently in the process of finalizing the required procedures in order to start receiving applications for companies wishing to join the Free Zone Areas. (QNA)
