Cairo, June 30 (QNA) - HE Minister of Education and Higher Education Lolwah Al Khater has been awarded the Arab Woman Excellence Shield for Social Responsibility 2026 in recognition of her leadership and contributions to education and community service at the national, regional and international levels.
According to a statement from Qatar's Ministry of Education and Higher Education on Tuesday, the award was accepted on her behalf by Khalid Abdullah Al Ibrahim, Counselor at the Embassy of the State of Qatar to the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Permanent Delegation of the State of Qatar to the League of Arab States.
The honor was presented during the Arab Women and Social Responsibility Forum in Cairo, organized by the League of Arab States in cooperation with the Arab Council for Social Responsibility as part of the fifth edition of the Arab Woman Social Responsibility Award.
Secretary-General of the Arab Council for Social Responsibility, Randa Rizk, said the forum aimed to strengthen partnerships and exchange expertise to support sustainable development across the Arab world. She described education as a cornerstone of human development and said empowering women and strengthening their leadership roles were essential to achieving long-term development goals.
The forum also recognized Dr Rania Yousri, Director of the Department of Private Schools and Kindergartens at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education for a community responsibility initiative in private schools and kindergartens.
Mohamed said Qatar's experience had been presented to other Arab countries to encourage the exchange of best practice and promote a culture of social responsibility among schools, students, parents and government institutions. She said the initiative aimed to expand access to high-quality education for students in Qatar's private schools while supporting broader community development objectives.
The forum brought together diplomats, policymakers and representatives of regional and international organizations to discuss best practices in social responsibility and women's empowerment. (QNA)
