Jakarta, January 25 (QNA) - An earthquake measuring 5.3 on the Richter scale struck Indonesia's Southeast Maluku Regency (Maluku Tenggara) on Sunday.
According to Indonesia's Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), the quake occurred at a depth of 134 km.
Indonesia lies on the Pacific Ring of Fire, where many tectonic plates meet, causing frequent volcanic and seismic activity. (QNA)
