Doha, January 23 (QNA) – Aspire Academy defeated Tunisian club Etoile du Sahel 4-2 in a match held today at Mansour Muftah Stadium, as part of the third round of Group A matches in the 11th edition of Al Kass International Cup.

Aspire Academy's goals were scored by Osama Mohammed (43rd minute), Mohsen Al Hajri (46th minute), an own goal by Mohamed Marzouki (63rd minute), and Taha Nassir (80+8th minute).

Etoile du Sahel's goals were scored by Mazen Ghazi (57th minute and 79th minute, the latter from a penalty kick).

With this result, Aspire Academy strengthened their position at the top of the group with a perfect record, having already secured qualification for the semi-finals in the previous round, bringing their total to 9 points.

Conversely, the loss left the Tunisian team with two points, placing them third in the group and thus eliminating their hopes of qualifying for the semi-finals.

In the other match in the same group, the Moroccan Mohammed VI Academy defeated Scottish side Rangers 2-0.

After a goalless first half, which saw Rangers' Ethan Mulley sent off in the 24th minute, the Mohammed VI Academy opened the scoring in the 45th minute through Imran Dakhsh, before Omar Alawi added the second goal in the 80+7th minute.

With this result, the Moroccan team secured their place in the semi-finals, raising their points tally to 4 and finishing second behind Aspire Academy. Rangers, meanwhile, remained at the bottom of the group with just one point. (QNA)
