Iraq Launches National Security Strategy 2025-2030
Baghdad, May 22 (QNA) - Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani announced on Thursday the launch of the National Security Strategy (2025-2030).
In his speech, al-Sudani said that the strategy comes within the framework of Iraq's national program to enhance security, stability, sovereignty, and prosperity, indicating that the strategy will be called "Iraq First."
He added that the National Security Strategy represents a fundamental national document to strengthen and activate the system for managing the state's supreme interests, protecting it from the challenges and changes that threaten it from within and without, securing its vital interests, and preparing the appropriate requirements to achieve its strategic goals, interests, and regional and international relations, in accordance with Article 110 of the Iraqi Constitution.
He emphasized that the importance of this strategy lies in its protection of supreme national interests, represented by developing the security and defense system to achieve internal and external security, building a strong, diversified, and sustainable economy, and forging balanced and effective regional and international partnerships, while enhancing community security, protecting diversity and peaceful coexistence, and adopting an efficient service system that meets the needs of the people.
