European Stocks Open Mixed
Brussels, August 20 (QNA) - European stock indexes opened Thursday's trading with mixed performance, after the US Treasury Department announced that it was taking measures to reduce borrowing costs, at a time when pressure resulting from rising energy prices continued.
Among the major European markets, France's CAC 40 index on the Paris Stock Exchange rose by 0.05 percent, while Italy's FTSE MIB index in Milan also gained 0.37 percent.
In contrast, Britain's FTSE 100 index in London fell by 0.08 percent, while Germany's DAX index in Frankfurt declined by 0.12 percent. (QNA)
