DAAM Signs Funding Agreement with Dreama to Support Care Programs
Doha, August 20 (QNA) - The Social and Sport Contribution Fund (DAAM) and Orphan Care Center (Dreama) have signed a funding agreement to support three initiatives: the Building and Empowerment Program, the Children's Living Expenses Program, and the Orphan Stories Program.
Under the agreement, DAAM will provide financial contributions to fund the implementation of all three initiatives. The Building and Empowerment Program aims to strengthen psychological, social, and skill development for orphans and foster families. The Living Expenses Program covers essential living costs, care, and basic services for children at the center. Meanwhile, the Orphan Stories Program focuses on instilling moral and human values in children through educational media while promoting community awareness of social solidarity.
Highlighting the significance of the agreement, the center's Executive Director Sheikha Najla bint Ahmed Al-Thani stated that the partnership with DAAM provides crucial support to the center's efforts in enhancing care services for children and foster families.
She noted that the funding will help sustain programs tailored to meet the psychological, social, educational, and living needs of children, while developing their skills to foster empowerment, self-reliance, and positive integration into society. Sheikha Najla also underscored the vital role of cross-sector partnerships, particularly with DAAM, in creating a lasting positive impact on the quality of life and future of the children.
For his part, Director of Shared Services at the Social and Sport Contribution Fund (DAAM), Yousef Mohammed Al Nuaimi, said that the fund prioritizes supporting programs that address the direct needs of targeted beneficiaries and enhance service quality.
He added that the agreement represents a key step in integrating national efforts to provide comprehensive care for orphans, ultimately enhancing their quality of life and stability.
The agreement reflects the leading role played by DAAM and the public shareholding companies listed on the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) in supporting social initiatives and sustainable development in line with Qatar National Vision 2030.
The Orphan Care Center Dreama, one of the centers operating under the umbrella of Qatar Social Work, specializes in the care and empowerment of orphans and foster families, providing social, psychological, educational, and developmental programs and services that contribute to their stability, develop their capabilities, and create a supportive environment for their growth and positive integration into society.
Since its establishment in 2010, DAAM has funded numerous vital projects across cultural, social, sports, and charitable domains. Contributions from QSE-listed companies form a cornerstone of the fund’s financial resources, positioning them as key partners in driving national community development. (QNA)
