Doha, September 02 (QNA) - Qatar Career Development Center (QCDC), affiliated with Qatar Foundation (QF), and the Center for Empowerment and Care of the Elderly (Ehsan), signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at enhancing cooperation between the two parties in supporting senior citizens and promoting their active participation in society.

The MoU was co-signed by the Executive Director of Ehsan, Manal Ahmed Al Mannai, and Executive Director of QCDC, Saad Abdullah Al Kharji.

This MoU establishes a framework for cooperation to implement joint initiatives that highlight the vital contributions of senior citizens, support their participation in the national development process, and enhance the transfer of expertise and knowledge between generations.

Under the memorandum, the two parties will collaborate on a series of initiatives, including the involvement of elderly citizens in QCDC's pioneering programs, such as the Little Employee Initiative and Al Dileela program. In these roles, they will serve as mentors and guides to younger generations, providing them with inspiring role models. They will also contribute to various other career guidance and development initiatives, and will feature in the Career Guide magazine, highlighting their skills and experiences.

On this occasion, Al Kharji emphasized QCDC's role in enhancing communication between various segments of society through the Career Development Portal. He noted that QCDC views career development as a lifelong process, and its partnership with Ehsan embodies this approach.

Al Kharji pointed out that the Center believes that involving senior citizens in programs enriches the experiences of the youth while also reflecting the appreciation for the valuable knowledge and contributions of older generations in Qatar.

For her part, Manal Al Mannai explained that the memorandum reflects Ehsan Center's commitment to strengthening strategic partnerships with national institutions and promoting integration in efforts to empower the elderly, benefit from their expertise, and utilize it in service of the community. She emphasized that this step is represents a significant addition to the Center's initiatives aimed at fostering intergenerational communication and reinforcing the role of the elderly as active partners in sustainable development, in alignment with Qatar National Vision 2030.
