Doha, January 19 (QNA) - Al Shamal defeated Al Wakrah 80-76 in their match Monday at Al Gharafa Hall, as part of the15th round of the second division of the 2025-2026 Basketball League.

The scores for the four quarters were as follows: 19-29, 20-19, 20-12, and 21-16.

Individually, Aaron Randolph Mitchell of Al Wakrah delivered a strong offensive performance, leading his team with 26 points and offering a variety of offensive options. However, his efforts were not enough to prevent the loss.

On the other hand, Shane Legend Rector led Al Shamal's scoring with 20 points, in addition to his crucial contributions in the decisive moments of the game.

With this victory, Al Shamal raised their tally to 21 points, strengthening their position in sixth place in the standings and confirming their ability to compete in the second half of the league, while Al Wakrah remained in fifth place with 22 points, after a loss that revealed some defensive challenges that the technical staff will work to address in the upcoming rounds.
