Doha, December 16 (QNA) - The Organizing Committee of the National Day 2024 celebration announced the extension of the events organized by the Ministry of Culture on this occasion at Darb Al Saai until next Saturday, December 21.

The decision to extend the National Day events at Darb Al Saai came to keep up with the large public turnout for heritage and cultural events that enhance the national identity on this occasion.

The cultural and heritage events continued today amidst a large turnout of families of citizens and residents who were keen to take their children to enjoy the various activities, as Darb Al Saai includes a variety of events suitable for all ages, which include various cultural and movement activities and competitions.

Among the heritage events that witness a large turnout is the Falconry Event, where Mohammed Saeed Al Kubaisi, the event supervisor, confirmed that "Falconry" reflects the State of Qatar's attention to this heritage, which is part of the human heritage, noting that there are many achievements of the State of Qatar that confirm the interest in the falconry heritage, such as collecting books, documents, manuscripts, pictures, written, audio and visual materials, and documenting the oral history related to this Qatari heritage.

He pointed out that the event aims to introduce the public to this aspect that was and still is part of the lives of Qataris, explaining that it includes face painting and feeding the Houbara through small openings in the cages without touching the birds themselves, in addition to providing a number of types of birds of prey to allow visitors to take pictures with them, and participating in the children's entertainment through a section for coloring falcons and hunting birds in general, in addition to hunting tools.

Relatedly, Darb Al Saai events witness a remarkable presence of folk art groups that present various artistic performances that highlight the authentic Qatari heritage and revive the heritage arts that express the identity of the community and its ancient history. (QNA)
