MoEHE Launches First Nursery Magazine to Boost Early Childhood Sector
Doha, June 15 (QNA) - The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) launched on Monday the inaugural issue of Liwan Nursery Magazine, a publication aimed at supporting early childhood sector.
Attending the launch ceremony were HE Undersecretary of MoEHE, Dr. Ibrahim bin Saleh Al Nuaimi, and Assistant Undersecretary for Special Education Affairs, Omar Abdul Aziz Al Naama, alongside a host of directors of departments, nursery license holders, nursery managers, as well as specialists and stakeholders in the early childhood sector.
The magazine is intended to enhance the pedagogical quality in private nurseries and document outstanding experiences and practices in this critical sector.
In a statement, the Ministry highlighted that the launch of this magazine embodies its unremitting commitment to advancing the early childhood system, as well as service quality afforded to children through deploying a media and awareness platform meant for projecting the best practices, imparting inspiring experiences and promoting expertise sharing among early education enterprises.
The journal is a vital step toward documenting the efforts marshaled within private nurseries and projecting the educational and development role these enterprises are undertaking, the statement reads.
Al Naama recalled that the inauguration represents a significant step in the path toward developing private education, and mirroring MoEHE's prioritization of early childhood as the core stage of building humans and human capital.
Investment in early childhood - from birth to age four - is a core pillar of realizing Qatar National Vision 2030, as this stage has a profound impact on shaping the child character and bolstering their future capabilities, Al Naama suggested.
Al Naama outlined that the magazine is issued monthly with the aim of documenting outstanding pedagogical practices and disseminating knowledge among those who operate in the education sector to foster a culture of quality and excellence.
Nurseries are not merely care enterprises, but rather integrated educational environments that help build child character, Al Naama clarified, affirming that these nurseries assist children to internalize national values and Qatari identity from the early years.
He underlined that the magazine will literally contribute to projecting the Qatari environments that support children through combining national identity with state-of-the-art global educational practices, thereby promoting the quality of early education and institutional analysis in this sector.
Director of the Nurseries Department at the Ministry, Ghada Sultan Laram, said that the launch of this magazine is a crucial step toward enhancing the early childhood sector, demonstrating the department's commitment to backing initiatives that help optimize the quality of services provided to children, in addition to reinforcing innovation and documenting successful experiences.
This magazine is worth a knowledge and networking platform that brings together sector professionals and supports the exchange of expertise and the dissemination of best practices, she pointed out.
Laram further noted that the magazine's role goes beyond mere documentation to encompass fostering partnership with the family and community, since the latter are core components in child upbringing, along with projecting the efforts undertaken by the educational workforce operating in nurseries.
She noted that through this journal, the Department intends to deepen the culture of constant development through sharing knowledge and documenting successes, which ultimately help elevate performance and improve service quality.
Additionally, this initiative grew out of the Ministry’s broader efforts to strengthen early childhood education and institutional development in the sector. (QNA)
