European Stocks Close Higher
Brussels, June 16 (QNA) - European stocks ended higher on Tuesday, supported by investor optimism over an agreement to end the conflict between the United States and Iran.
Most major European markets posted gains, with the pan-European Stoxx Europe 600 Index closing up 0.3 percent after reaching a fresh record high in Monday’s session.
By sector, banking stocks led the advance, rising 1.6 percent, followed by industrial companies, which gained nearly 1 percent. Technology and telecommunications stocks lagged behind, falling 1.68 percent and 1.75 percent, respectively.
The gains in European markets were part of a broader global rally fueled by lower oil prices, which helped ease concerns about the inflationary impact of the conflict in the Middle East. (QNA)
