5.0-Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Papua New Guinea
Port Moresby, April 16 (QNA) – An earthquake measuring 5.0 on the Richter scale struck Papua New Guinea on Thursday.
The US Geological Survey reported that the earthquake's epicenter was at a depth of 10 km.
There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage.
Papua New Guinea lies within the Ring of Fire, a seismically and volcanically active zone along the Pacific Ocean. This region contains 90 percent of the world's active volcanoes. (QNA)
