Pakistan: US-Iran Ceasefire Holds, Peace Efforts Continue
Islamabad, April 13 (QNA) - Pakistani Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said Monday that the ceasefire between the US and Iran is holding, adding that Islamabad continues its efforts to facilitate dialogue and promote lasting peace in the region.
In a speech to the Pakistani cabinet, Sharif explained that the ceasefire remains in place and that Islamabad is working to resolve outstanding issues between the two sides following the first round of negotiations.
The Pakistani Prime Minister described the recent Islamabad talks as a historic moment, particularly as they provided an opportunity to transform the conflict into a chance for lasting peace.
He noted that the Iranian and American delegations held direct, face-to-face negotiations for 21 hours, describing this as an important step towards diplomatic engagement. (QNA)
