Israeli Airstrikes on Southern Lebanon Kill Three
Beirut, March 11 (QNA) - Several Lebanese regions were subjected Wednesday to a series of Israeli airstrikes and artillery shelling, leading to three deaths and a number of injuries, amid heavy warplane activity over Beirut and its southern suburbs.
The Lebanese Ministry of Public Health's Health Emergency Operations Center said that three people were killed in an Israeli airstrike that targeted Bint Jbeil at dawn, following the killing of seven citizens and the wounding of 11 others in airstrikes on Al Shahabiya in the Tyre district.
Israeli warplanes also targeted a house in Al Hamiri in the district of Tyre, leading to injuries to a number of civilians who were transferred to the city's hospitals for treatment.
Al Haniyah was subjected to artillery shelling that coincided with an Israeli drone raid on the town, while Israeli warplanes launched an airstrike on Harbat, north of Baalbek in the Bekaa Valley.
In Beirut, Israeli warplanes launched several successive airstrikes on the southern suburbs, targeting the Haret Hreik area, coinciding with intensive low-altitude flights over the suburbs and over Beirut and its suburbs.
Lebanon, especially its southern regions and the southern suburbs of Beirut, has been witnessing an Israeli military escalation since March 2, amid heightened tensions in the Middle East. (QNA)
