Doha, June 10 (QNA) - Qatar University (QU) signed a joint cooperation agreement with Qatar Press Center (QPC) aimed at strengthening collaboration in the fields of media, academic and scientific research, training, and career development.
The agreement was signed by Prof. Ibrahim Al Kaabi, Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs at QU, and Sadeq Mohammad Alammari, General Manager of the QPC, in the presence of officials from both institutions.
The agreement aims to strengthen the strategic partnership between the two parties in the areas of media, academic and scientific research, and career development. It also seeks to establish a sustainable framework for collaboration through the exchange of expertise, knowledge, and resources, while supporting initiatives of mutual interest.
Furthermore, the agreement seeks to contribute to the preparation and development of distinguished Qatari media professionals among QU students and graduates, equipping them with the practical skills and experience needed to work effectively across various media platforms and institutions.
Commenting on the agreement, Prof. Ibrahim Mohamed Al Kaabi, QU's Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs, said, "This agreement reflects our commitment to strengthening collaboration with leading national institutions to advance media education and professional training. Through this partnership, we aim to provide our students and graduates with valuable opportunities to engage with industry professionals, gain practical experience, and further bridge the gap between academic learning and professional practice. Such initiatives contribute to preparing highly qualified national talent capable of supporting the continued development of Qatar's media sector."
Sadeq Mohammad Alammari, General Manager of the QPC, emphasized that the agreement represents an important strategic step toward strengthening integration between academic and professional institutions in Qatar, contributing to the preparation of a new generation of media professionals who are academically and professionally equipped to keep pace with the rapid developments taking place in the media sector.
He stated, "We are proud to sign this agreement with Qatar University, the country's leading national academic institution. We firmly believe that building national media capabilities requires a genuine partnership between educational institutions and professional organizations. This agreement will create broad opportunities for collaboration in training, professional development, scientific research, and the exchange of expertise, ultimately contributing to the advancement of young media talents."
