Municipality Ministry Holds Awareness Program for Over 600 Workers on Occupational Safety
Doha, June 10 (QNA) - The Ministry of Municipality, represented by the General Cleanness Department, on Wednesday organized an awareness program to supercharge the culture of occupational safety for workers and drivers.
The two-day consecutive program features the participation of over 600 workers and drivers hailing from a variety of workplaces. It intends to ensure workers adhere to the preventive requirements, as well as furnish them with the essential guidelines to handle any potential risks while they are operating onsite.
These guidelines, the Ministry asserted, would help prevent accidents and traumas and optimize workplace environments.
Director of the General Cleanliness Department at the Ministry of Municipality, Muqbil Madhour Al Shammari, said the program embodies the foremost attention of the department to promote the culture of occupational safety in workplaces, stemming from the fact that workers' safety is a overriding priority and a substantial component in raising performance efficiency and service quality.
The department significantly prioritizes building the capacities of those workers and drivers through constant awareness and training programs in collaboration with the relevant authorities, Al Shammari added.
He suggested that these programs would help enhance adherence to safety measures and risk reduction, as well as promote the public sanitization system and achieve the highest levels of quality and sustainability.
For his part, Head of the Awareness and Education Section at the General Cleanliness Department, Hamad Hassan Al Tamimi, said the program is part of the department's efforts to turbocharge the culture of occupational safety and the competencies of those workers.
When it comes to the workers' safety, this is a critical priority to enhance performance and service qualities, Al Tamimi underlined, adding that the department works to entrench the culture of safety as daily practices.
He noted that this comes through executing constant awareness and training programs for those segments at different workplaces, thereby reinforcing adherence to preventive measures and occupational awareness.
The Ministry reiterated that it is committed to forging ahead with the implementation of awareness and cultural programs and fostering partnership with the private sector and operating in unison with the relevant entities.
It affirmed that this would help upgrade human competencies and enhance the level of services, as well as support the municipal work efforts to strengthen public safety and sustainable development. (QNA)
