Doha, December 08 (QNA) - Al Wakrah defeated Al Khor 31-29 in their second-round match of the Qatar Handball Association (QHA) Cup for the 2024-2025 season, held Sunday at Duhail Sports Hall.
This victory, their second consecutive win, raised Al Wakrah's points to 6, while Al Khor remains with 2 points.
In another match, Al Shamal triumphed over Al Gharafa with a score of 30-19, bringing Al Shamal's points to 4, compared to Al Gharafa's 2 points.
Additionally, Al Arabi emerged victorious against Qatar SC, winning 29-27, thus reaching 6 points, while Qatar holds 2 points.
The second round will continue on Monday with two matches: Al Rayyan versus Al Ahli and Al Duhail versus Al Sadd.
The Handball Federation Cup takes place during the league's hiatus as international players join the Qatari national team, preparing for the 29th Men's World Championship to be held in Croatia, Denmark, and Norway from Jan. 14 to Feb. 2, 2025.
Last season, Al Wakrah clinched the Handball Federation Cup, with Al Arabi as the runner-up and Al Duhail in third place. (QNA)
