For its part, Qatari daily Al-Watan applauded Ashghal's opening of all roads within the Roads and Infrastructure Project in Doha Industrial Area, Package 3, as part of its commitment to implement its plan aiming to provide a fully developed road network and full services for the national infrastructure network throughout Qatar.
The paper noted that the total project area is approximately 4.57sqkm, including local streets, intersections and arterial roads, which are now open to traffic. Package 3 serves around 816 plots, including shops, factories, warehouses and workshops, and provides access links that serve these outlets and plots. A total 40km of roads were upgraded as part of the project, including 'collector' roads, such as Al Wakalat, Al Kassarat, Al Manajer and Al Binaa streets, and some arterial roads.
Al-Watan pointed out that the opening of Package 3 project stresses the special importance of the Industrial Area in reviving the movement of goods and individuals and facilitating transportation and linking with the main roads and highway network, in line with the economic development in the country, in addition to its positive impact on the flow of traffic within the Industrial Area, noting that the project is completed less than "50" days before the start of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
In conclusion, Al-Watan underlined the full readiness of infrastructure in all areas throughout the country, in addition to the readiness of the infrastructure projects related to the World Cup and the completion of the highway network and transportation networks across the country, all of which are huge projects carried out within the framework of achieving the objectives of Qatar National Vision 2030, and paving the way for Qatar to be a leading hub for global events in the region, to be added to its leading diplomatic roles and good offices in settling regional and international disputes.
Meanwhile, Al-Sharq newspaper highlighted in its editorial Qatar's solidarity with the Palestinian people and its firm and continuous commitment to the Palestinian cause.
The paper underlined that the State of Qatar is keen on supporting all international efforts aimed at the effective implementation of the legitimacy resolutions that demand Israel to stop its occupation of Arab lands in Palestine; adding that the State always takes advantage of every regional and international forum to support the Palestinian people and their just cause.
As part of this effort, the Shura Council participated in the meeting of the Palestine Committee of the Arab Parliament, which was held in Cairo in preparation for the first session of the third legislative term of the Arab Parliament, Al-Sharq added, noting that members of the Committee valued during the meeting the firm position of the State of Qatar in support of the Palestinian cause and the Palestinian brothers.
The paper noted that the Palestine Committee affirmed the solidarity and full support of the Arab Parliament for the direction of the State of Palestine to obtain full membership in the United Nations, and its right to join international organizations and conventions with the aim of strengthening its legal and international standing, and embodying the independence of its sovereignty over its occupied land. The State of Qatar and the participating Arab countries stressed the full solidarity of the Arab Parliament with the State of Palestine and the full support of the Palestinian people in obtaining their legitimate rights, foremost of which is the establishment of the Palestinian state with the city of Jerusalem as its capital in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions, and adherence to the Arab Peace Initiative.
In conclusion, Al-Sharq said that the State of Qatar will never abandon its support for the its brothers in Palestine because of its belief in their just cause and in fulfillment of its moral responsibility, which requires standing with the right and supporting the oppressed. (QNA)
