Doha, April 15 (QNA) - The Orphans Care Center (Dreama), one of the centers affiliated with Qatar Social Work Foundation, celebrated the Arab Orphan Day with the aim of shedding light on the issues of the orphans and raising awareness of their rights.
Dreama said that marking Arab Orphan Day promotes the concepts of positivity, happiness and tolerance, consolidates the value of charity and solidarity in the society, and empowers the children of Dreama and motivate them to be positive, optimistic, patient and persistent in facing challenges, self-reliant and take responsibility.
Organized under the theme "Kind Word", the celebration included a variety of activities, including setting up an awareness pavilion in Place Vendome where visitors and children wrote kind words and hanged them on a tree. The Center also organized an awareness event at Al Manar School .
Commenting on the occasion, Executive Director of Dreama Sheikha Najla bint Ahmed Al-Thani said that Center seeks through celebrating the Arab Orphan Day to highlight the impact of the word on people, noting that the theme of this year's celebration expresses a great value in life inspired by the Holy Quran, which shows the great effect of good and kind words.
She emphasized the great attention that Qatar Social Work Foundation attaches to orphans, and the keenness to sponsor all events related to them, including the Arab Orphan Day; noting that all events organized by Dreama aim primarily at educating the society about orphan issues and emphasizing the importance of the psychological, social, health and educational support provided to them.
