Hazard Announces International Retirement
Brussels, December 07 (QNA) - Eden Hazard, the captain of the Belgium national team, announced his retirement from playing internationally, following the early exit of his country's national team from the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 competitions.
Hazard said that the page is closing today, thanking his fans for their love, the unlimited support, and all the shared happiness since 2008.
He added that he has decided to end his international career.
Hazard played 126 matches for Belgium, during which he scored 33 goals and made 36 more.
The Belgium national team exited the group stage of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, after finishing third in Group F behind Morocco and Croatia, although it was among the candidate teams for the competition before the start of the World Cup.
