Doha, December 17 (QNA) - If the world has unanimously agreed that the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 is a great edition, then this is confirmation that the State of Qatar has made a great achievement, harnessed enormous capabilities, and made strenuous efforts over the course of 12 years in order for the World Cup to come out with that image that stunned the world, and made everyone acknowledge that the event was and still exceptional.

The Director of the Middle East Council on Global Affairs, Dr. Tariq Mohamed Youssef, asserts that the Western media campaigns against the Qatar World Cup reflect a superior and racist tone and demonstrate the absence of objectivity and professionalism when it comes to the State of Qatar.

In a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA), he criticized the fallacies published by some Western newspapers about the World Cup, saying, "These newspapers have lost their credibility in covering Qatar news for a long time, with its writers and editors in general, they deal with the Qatari issue with a clear bias and coverage that lacks any objectivity and is sometimes dominated by a racist tone.
Dr. Tariq Youssef pointed out that the important questions raised now are: Is the region being dragged into the internal cultural wars that are tearing apart the West? Are Western parties trying to impose their values and choices on other peoples? Are they systematic paid campaigns for the purpose of blackmailing the State of Qatar and the countries of the region? He added: "I am inclined to the first two questions related to attempts to plunge the region into cultural wars, and that there are Western parties trying to impose their choices on the region,", adding, "There is no doubt that all the reasons for these campaigns will become clear later." For her part, Tracy Holmes, an Australian journalist who works for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC), said in an exclusive interview with Qatar News Agency (QNA) that the World Cup is a truly great tournament and a milestone in the history of World Cups, adding that what Qatar presented is amazing, which made the tournament exceptional, and what makes me emphasize the value of the great work that Qatar has done.

Tracy adds: "I wrote an article about the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and I know that my proposition will not be liked by some, especially those whose expectations documented in their articles did not live up to the irrefutable truth that the world witnessed and that I witnessed personally. They expected a disastrous World Cup, and they expected a lot of problems to happen, and a lot of things not going as they should, which causes great confusion, but in the end nothing happened as they expected, and this really pissed them off.

Augusto Melo, a Brazilian journalist who worked with Agence France-Presse, said: "The FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 was a great success and it is clear to everyone, the organization was tight and perfect in all aspects, especially at the level of smooth movement to reach the stadiums without a long travel, since the tournament was held in a small geographical area, and this in itself was a great challenge, but on the ground it has become an advantage." Melo added that this World Cup bore many surprises in terms of technical aspects and unexpected results, in addition to what Messi made at the age of 35, as the player had never led his country to the final at this age, perhaps Zinedine Zidane did the same in 2006 but he was thirty-four at the time.

As for John Northcraft, a journalist from the English newspaper The Sunday Times, he confirmed in an exclusive interview with Qatar News Agency (QNA) that the World Cup in Qatar was very successful and well organized, pointing out that the tournament had a unique feature, as it was held in one geographical area, which was ideal for players, fans, and journalists.

He added that the tournament was held on wonderful stadiums, very good infrastructure, and modern means of transportation that provided great ease of movement for everyone. He added that it was the most tournament he enjoyed, as he got to know Doha despite being very busy with his work, and enjoyed different Arabic food. (QNA)
