Ramallah, September 16 (QNA) - The Palestinian government has called on Israeli occupation forces to allow Palestinian and international civil defense and rescue teams to enter the Gaza Strip to help rescue people trapped beneath the rubble of a collapsed residential building in Gaza City.
The government said 20 people had been killed and dozens more injured or missing in the collapse, most of them women and children. 
In a statement on Wednesday, it urged the international community to exert urgent pressure to secure access for rescue teams, as well as heavy machinery and equipment needed to clear the rubble, recover bodies and rescue those trapped beneath the debris.
Rescue teams had recovered the bodies of 20 people from the rubble of the residential building, which was sheltering displaced people in Gaza City, after it collapsed following earlier bombardment by Israeli forces during the conflict in the Gaza Strip. (QNA)
