Doha, December 10 (QNA) - The International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA) on Saturday announced it had opening disciplinary procedures against Argentina and the Netherlands, after their World Cup quarter-final match in which, Referee Antonio Mateu brandished a World Cup record 18 yellow cards.

The FIFA Disciplinary Committee has opened proceedings against the Argentinian Football Association due to potential breaches of articles 12 (Misconduct of players and officials) and 16 (Order and security at matches) of the FIFA Disciplinary Code. Additionally, FIFA Disciplinary Committee has also opened proceedings against the Dutch Football Association due to potential breaches of article 12 of the FIFA Disciplinary Code in relation to the same match.'
