Portugal's Mendes Out of World Cup Due to Injury

Lisbon , December 01 (QNA) - Portuguese Football Federation on Thursday said that defender Nuno Mendes will miss the rest of the World Cup Qatar 2022 competition due to injury.

The player suffered a muscle injury in his left thigh during the game between Portugal and Uruguay.

Nuno Mendes will remain part of the national delegation in Qatar, where he will begin the treatment said the federation in a statement today.

Mendes missed Portugal's first Match against Ghana due to muscular fatigue, and was injured before the end of the first half of the his team's match against Uruguay on Monday.
