Doha, November 30 (QNA) - Australian players expressed their happiness for reaching the last-16 at the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, following Wednesday's 1-0 win over Denmark, at Al Janoub Stadium in Group D's last fixture.
Midfielder Riley McGree hailed the overwhelming performance of all the team players against a strong opponent, vowing to continue good displays in the round of 16.
This is the second time for Australia to move through to the knockouts in the World Cup since 2006 edition.
Defensive midfielder Cameron Devlin said the team played a great match and qualified for the next round of the tournament after playing strong sides in the group stage including defending champions France.
Commenting on the victory, fullback Aziz Behich expressed joy for making the Australian fans happy. The team qualified after adopting a good tactic despite the opponent's defense capabilities. (QNA)
