Doha, November 28 (QNA) - The Portuguese national team coach, Fernando Santos, expressed his happiness at his team's 2-0 victory over Uruguay and qualification for the round of 16 of FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
In the post-match press conference, he said that his players succeeded in achieving victory in a match that had equal chances between the two teams, who exchanged attacks and searched for victory with the same strength, pointing out that the team suffered a lot in the first 15 minutes of the match, but succeeded in excelling in the end.
Santos denied that he had sought revenge against Uruguay, which eliminated the Portuguese national team from the round of 16 in the 2018 Russia World Cup, and said football has no revenge.
The Portuguese coach concluded by saying that the team qualified but has not yet secured the first place of the group. (QNA)
