Doha, November 28 (QNA) - The Cultural Village Foundation "Katara" and the British Council signed Sunday a Cultural Cooperation Agreement to strengthen the collaboration in various cultural aspects and in areas of mutual interest Activities.

During a press conference marking the announcement of this agreement, the General Manager of Katara Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti expressed his gladness for inaugurating a new partnership, through the signing of a cultural cooperation agreement, between Katara and the British Council, which aims to strengthen and reinforce the alliance between us in various cultural aspects and develop activities in areas of common interest. Dr. Al Sulaiti emphasized the importance of developing horizons of collaboration and promoting common goals to lay a strong ground for cultural exchange.

For his part, Chief Executive Officer of the British Council Scott McDonald expressed his gladness with signing the agreement, saying that he hopes this partnership will contribute to establishing and building sustainable cultural relations.

Meanwhile, Katara inaugurated two murals that promote rapprochement between peoples, in the presence of the General Manager of Katara Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti, HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the United Kingdom Fahad bin Mohammed Al Attiyah, and the CEO of the British Council Scott MacDonald.
The first mural (I am a person) is characterized by containing elements from the Qatari and Welsh cultures by using symbols from the environment of the two friendly countries, in addition to the symbolism of football.

The second mural with the title (Together) in Arabic, English, and Welsh.

The two murals represented the collaboration between young artists from the UK, Wales, and Qatar.

Qatari artists Mona Al Badr expressed her gladness with her first collaboration with artists from other countries.

In her exclusive remarks to Qatar News Agency (QNA), she indicated that she used to work alone, but this joint experience was smooth and successful as work was divided among them.

She said that the mural includes symbols related to both countries, a flower representing Wales and a Saltbush tree representing Qatar.And all these elements come together in everyone's love for football, noting the meeting of art and sport in the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

Al Badr indicated that she also participated in the completion of the second mural, which embodied the word (together) in three languages that carried a clear message in promoting the concept of coexistence and interdependence between people.

In the same context, the General Director of Katara also inaugurated an exhibition of paintings that combine sports and art, in cooperation with the British Council. (QNA)
