Doha, November 25 (QNA) - Iran coach Carlos Queiroz described the exciting victory in the final moments of the match against Wales today as deserved, and attributed it to the quality of the players and the support from the Iranian fans, stressing that the most important thing in football is always how to score goals in the end and win, which is what the Iranian team did by scoring two goals in the stoppage time.
Responding to a question from Qatar News Agency (QNA) in the post-match press conference, Queiroz said that his team played a strong match against Wales and succeeded in achieving a late victory, but it was deserved, noting that the most important thing is not when to score but how to score and win, not how to start the confrontation, but how to end it for their benefit, and this is what their players did today.
The Iranian coach added that they have proven their ability to come back, win and move on and it was a great victory. This is the real Iranian team with this level and this spirit, and most importantly they got rid of the negative pressures and emotions after the big loss to England, and they will go into the next match to compete for qualification, he added.
Queiroz pointed out that this strong confrontation and exciting victory are a gift to the Iranian fans in Iran and everywhere, hoping for qualification to the next round. (QNA)
