Doha, November 24 (QNA) - South Korea coach Paulo Bento said he was happy with his side's performance in Thursday's 0-0 stalemate against Uruguay in the opening Group H games in the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
The Portuguese told a press conference after the match that it was a tough game against a strong opponent that includes a number of distinguished players with international caps for years.
He added that his side were on the front foot, and the South Americans stepped back to contain the momentum South Korea started with.
Commenting on his side's keeping in defense in the second half, Bento said his players exerted great efforts in the first half through high pressure, adding that they played aggressively and boldly to retrieve the ball.
South Korea are now level on one point with Uruguay, waiting for Ghana-Portugal encounter on Thursday. (QNA)
