Doha, November 23 (QNA) - Costa Rica coach Luis Fernando Suarez expressed his sadness at the 7-0 heavy defeat that his country incurred today against Spain at Al Thumama Stadium in the first round matches of the FIFA World Cup Qatar. 2022.
Addressing a press conference after the match, Suarez said that the Spanish national team was much better than Costa Rica and adopted an offensive method while keeping the ball throughout the match.
He indicated that the loss suffered by his team should be a motive to review the mistakes that the team made and try to correct them in the rest of the matches.
The Costa Rican coach held himself partly responsible for the loss today, and said, "Now we have to think about the next match, because we have a better level that we can offer.. We must improve our level in the next two matches and find a way to achieve positive results that make us forget today's defeat." He said, "We did not expect this big loss, and we expected a different performance in the match by the players, but we have to think about the next match against Japan. We have to prepare our players psychologically to overcome the effects of this big loss, and we will work on that starting tomorrow." (QNA)
