Al Ribat, November 02 (QNA) - The Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) affirmed its solidarity with the State of Qatar, and its support and standing by it, in the face of the suspicious campaign from some circles, in the context of its hosting of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
The organization said in a statement today that the State of Qatar has provided all capabilities to ensure the success of the event and provided all guarantees that the conditions for organizing this major global event are respected, according to the FIFA's testimony.
The statement clarified that no country that organized this international football event has ever been subjected to such an unjust campaign. In this regard, ISESCO called on its member states and other peace and harmony loving countries to stand by the State of Qatar in these circumstances that require equitable support. Especially since this campaign collides with the culture and norms of peoples, and does not respect the cultural diversity framed by international conventions, which is within the competencies of several international organizations, including ISESCO.
The organization also stressed the need to distance this global football event from all polarizations that could affect its course to serve narrow interests, the main concern of which is to divert global attention to partial issues that contradict the global consensus, especially since the State of Qatar has fulfilled the necessary conditions for holding this great global football season in an atmosphere of authentic Arab hospitality that is proud of its Gulf and Arab neighbors, and thus deserves all support, advocacy and appreciation.
