Doha, November 19 (QNA) - Several Turkish officials and media professionals have praised the efforts of the State of Qatar, at various levels, to prepare for hosting the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar, stressing their country's great support for Qatar in hosting the World Cup, expecting success for this global event that takes place for the first time in an Arab Islamic country.
Head of the Communications Department of the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey Fahrettin Altun congratulated the State of Qatar on the start of the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar on Sunday, noting the cooperation between Qatar and Turkey in securing the tournament.
Yasin Aktay, the former adviser to the Turkish president, said that whoever travels to Qatar to watch the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 will have the full opportunity to get acquainted with a model of an Islamic country with all its culture, values, and customs.
Speaking to Qatar News Agency (QNA), Turkish news channel Ulke TV Editor-in-Chief Hasan Ozturk said that Qatar was able to accomplish what no one expected when it won the honor of hosting the tournament in 2010, indicating that it will be a historic tournament thanks to hard work and the synergy of efforts throughout 12 years.
He stressed that the great achievements made by the State of Qatar and its great preparations for organizing the tournament should be an example to guide the countries of the world in preparing to host the next editions of the FIFA World Cup.
In a statement to QNA, Jalal Demir, head of the Arab media house, praised the huge preparations that Qatar made for the success of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, wishing success for this tournament, which takes place in an Islamic country for the first time. (QNA)
