Doha, September 08 (QNA) - Qatar Museums announced that it will organize the "Around the World in Jewelry" exhibition from October 27 to December 26. 
Hosted by M7, Qatar’s hub for innovation and entrepreneurship in fashion and design, the exhibition represents the largest showcase of jewelry from Qatar Museums' collections, enriched by a curated selection of heritage creations from Van Cleef & Arpels.
Organized in collaboration with L'ECOLE, School of Jewelry Arts, the exhibition will bring together more than 500 pieces of jewelry and artifacts, including ornaments, artworks, photographs, and sculptures spanning diverse cultures, geographical regions, and historical eras, with some pieces being displayed to the public for the first time. 
These items reflect the richness of the National Museum of Qatar, the Museum of Islamic Art, and the future Lusail Museum.
The exhibition is divided into seven main themes that trace the multi-faceted meanings of adornment across civilizations, beginning with the Sea and Ocean, which explores materials from pearls and shells to coral, followed by Nature, which traces the impact of forests, animals, plants, and minerals on human adornment. 
Other themes include The Cosmos, focusing on humanity's deep fascination with the sky; Body Ornaments, examining pieces worn on various body parts to express cultural identity; Status, exploring the role of jewelry in expressing power and social hierarchy; Customs and Ceremonies, highlighting milestone moments from marriage to commemoration; and Protection, shedding light on universal aspirations for safety, health, and prosperity.
The exhibition will be accompanied by a series of educational programs and children's workshops, alongside a bilingual Arabic-English publication produced by L'ECOLE in collaboration with Qatar Museums to enrich the research and narrative aspects of the display.
M7 Director Maha Al Sulaiti emphasized that the center seeks to foster a culture of creative exploration and deepen public appreciation for design.
Meanwhile, L'ECOLE President Lise Macdonald noted that the exhibition introduces audiences in Qatar to jewelry preservation and cultural exchange. Exhibition curators Inezita Gay-Egel and Paul Paradis highlighted that the showcase offers a window into the universal human nature of decorative arts.
Supported by Visit Qatar and held as part of Qatar Creates for the Fall-Winter 2026-2027 season, the exhibition stems from the legacy of the Qatar-France 2020 Year of Culture, reflecting a continuous commitment to cultural exchange and creative dialogue. (QNA)
