Rabat, September 08 (QNA) - Engaging young people in multiple phases of crisis management matters most; in addition to ensuring their access to knowledge and technology, the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) said Tuesday.

In a statement following the conclusion of the fifth Knowledge Youth Forum, held in Rabat, Morocco, from Sept. 7-8, under the theme "From Crisis to Sustainability", with the virtual participation of over 3,000 young males and females, ICESCO stressed the importance of conducting verification of information before circulation.

Knowledge, preparation and joint action are pillars of bolstering societies’ ability to navigate crises and build a more enduring future, the statement continued.

The two-day forum featured five panel discussions tackling health and biological security, socioeconomic crises, reputation and communications, climate and the environment, and cybersecurity and artificial intelligence.

The panelists underscored the importance of imbuing young people with the tools to understand crises and remain focused on them, while bending every effort to strengthen their contribution to devising solutions that respond to the needs of their communities and support sustainable development pathways.
