Doha, September 6 (QNA) - The State of Qatar took part in the 42nd meeting of the Committee of Their Excellencies, Senior Municipal Officials of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, held virtually on Sunday.

HE Undersecretary of the Ministry of Municipality, Ali bin Mohammed Al Ali headed the Qatari representation in the meeting.

His Excellency emphasized the importance of continuing to strengthen joint Gulf municipal work, praising the efforts exerted by the GCC General Secretariat and the GCC countries in developing the municipal work system.

He also commended the efforts of the committees and technical working groups concerned with municipal affairs, and the work they have accomplished, including the meetings and preparatory workshops they held to study the topics, initiatives, and guidelines included in the meeting's agenda. These were examined from various technical and executive perspectives, leading to the formulation of appropriate views and proposals to be submitted to Their Excellencies, the Ministers concerned with municipal affairs.

HE the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Municipal Affairs noted that these efforts contribute to improving municipal services and enhancing the exchange of expertise and successful experiences among the GCC countries.

The meeting comes as part of the preparations for the meeting of Their Excellencies and Highnesses the Ministers of Municipal Affairs of the GCC countries, scheduled to be held this week, to adopt the recommendations and decisions issued by the preparatory meetings. (QNA)
