Al Rayyan, Al Arabi Clinch Silver and Bronze at International Junior Volleyball Championship
Abu Dhabi, September 05 (QNA) - Al Rayyan and Al Arabi finished second and third, respectively, in the inaugural International Junior Volleyball Championship, hosted by Al Ain of the UAE and bringing together clubs from Qatar, the UAE, Bahrain and Kuwait.
Al Nasr Bahrain claimed the title after finishing atop the standings with a perfect record, putting together five straight wins. Al Rayyan claimed silver, while Al Arabi took bronze.
Al Nasr Bahrain opened their campaign with a 3-0 win over Al Arabi, then swept Al Rayyan and Burgan by the same score before defeating Al Ain 3-1 and closing out their campaign with a 3-0 victory over Al Qadsia.
In the final round, Al Rayyan defeated Al Ain 3-2, while Al Arabi beat Burgan 3-1, securing podium finishes for both Qatari clubs.
The tournament concluded with Al Nasr Bahrain being crowned champions and awarded the gold medal, while Al Rayyan took silver and Al Arabi claimed bronze. The participating clubs also exchanged commemorative plaques. (QNA)
