Doha, September 29 (QNA) - The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MOEHE) announced the opening of the online application process for the Qatar Education Excellence Award, running from Oct. 1-31. Prospective candidates are invited to review the approved criteria and requirements for each category and to prepare the required documents and supporting evidence for submission via the electronic system during the designated period.

CEO of the Qatar Education Excellence Award Maryam Abdullah Al Mohannadi affirmed that the award continues to play its role in honoring outstanding individuals from Qatar and highlighting their scientific, educational, and research achievements, while also fostering a culture of excellence and creativity within society.

Al Mohannadi stated that the award’s objectives go beyond merely increasing the number of winners or adding new names to the roster of achievers; rather, they extend to fostering an appreciation for the value of excellence and its impact on personal development and national progress. She also expressed hope that participation in the award will prove to be an experience that enriches the candidates' knowledge, hones their skills, develops their capabilities, and drives them to further cultivate their potential.

She added that the award looks forward to seeing each distinguished individual continue to build upon their experience and transform their success story into a tangible impact across educational, professional, research, and societal fields, thereby enhancing their contribution to supporting Qatar’s development journey.

The online application portal will remain open until Oct. 31, 2026, and results will be announced on Feb. 4, 2027. The awards ceremony will take place on April 18.

As part of its preparations to open the application process, the Qatar Education Excellence Award organized a series of virtual introductory sessions in June in collaboration with its specialized committees. These sessions covered nomination criteria, evaluation standards, and requirements for the various categories, while offering participants the opportunity to ask questions and receive necessary clarifications.

In September, the award also held an introductory session on its electronic system, outlining the application process, the steps for using the system, and the procedures for uploading required documents and supporting evidence, as part of its efforts to prepare candidates and facilitate participation.

The award invited prospective applicants to utilize the Help Center available on its website, which features a collection of frequently asked questions and answers regarding eligibility criteria, evaluation standards, and the requirements for each of the award’s nine categories, in addition to the option of submitting further inquiries via the award’s official email address.

In 2026, the Qatar Education Excellence Award received 371 applicants, a 34% increase compared to 2025, with 108 winners, comprising 38 platinum medalists and 70 gold medalists.

The award comes within the framework of national efforts to foster a culture of excellence and innovation, and to recognize talent and outstanding achievements in the educational, scientific, and research fields. This contributes to human capital development, strengthens its role in building a knowledge-based society, and supports the objectives of Qatar National Vision 2030. (QNA)
