Doha, September 25 (QNA) - Qatar's Ministry of Culture has joined the second edition of the Qatar Islamic Youth Aspiration and Development Assembly (QIYADA) 2026 with an exhibition showcasing Arabic calligraphy and Islamic ornamentation.
The two-day conference is being held at Multaqa, the Education City Student Center, in Doha.
The ministry's exhibition features a selection of works by Qatari artists and calligraphers, highlighting different artistic styles and techniques and showcasing the aesthetic traditions of Arabic calligraphy, gilding and Islamic decoration.
Among the participating artists are Noor Faisal, Iman Al Saad and Wadha Al Athba, as well as Sheikha Salem Al Hammoud, whose work focuses on Islamic ornamentation.
The exhibition includes paintings inspired by the classic tales of Kalila wa Dimna, alongside calligraphy and decorative works, as well as examples of Ottoman and Persian gilding.
The works use a range of materials and techniques, including gouache and watercolor, 14-carat gold water and genuine gold, as well as inks and specialist papers used in gilding and ornamentation.
The ministry said the exhibition reflects the diversity of traditional and contemporary Islamic art and highlights the continuing development of Arabic calligraphy and decorative arts. (QNA)
