Doha, September 23 (QNA) - Qatar's Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs received the leadership in digital innovation and heritage award for the second consecutive year during the third Google Cloud Doha 2026 conference, held under the patronage of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT).
The global honor recognized the Ministry's leadership in leveraging artificial intelligence and cloud computing technologies to develop government services and safeguard Islamic knowledge heritage.
Following the recognition, Director of Human Resources Management at Awqaf Mohammed Hassan Al Malki said the feat suggests that the Ministry has successfully leveraged cutting-edge technologies to serve the community.
He added that Awqaf is committed to moving ahead with innovative digital solutions that help bolster Qatar's stature in digital transformation and corporate innovation.
The recognition grew out of a package of smart projects and solutions the Ministry recently launched, chiefly the "Qatar Moshaf" app, an all-encompassing digital platform serving the Quranic text and its related sciences, and the "Minbar" project, a digital platform that translates Friday sermons into multiple languages to reach all segments of society.
This is alongside the "Smart Preacher Assistant", an AI-enhanced tool drawing on Islam Web's knowledge repository to develop contemporary religious outreach content, as well as smart services and AI agents: integrated digital portals for managing mosque affairs, facilitating Hajj and Umrah procedures, and providing interactive conversational solutions.
The feat was broadly an outgrowth of a strategic triumvirate of Awqaf, MCIT and Google Cloud that helped transform Awqaf's infrastructure into a modern cloud environment and enhance data security. (QNA)
